These rules form part of the Terms of Use. Ads that violate them are rejected or deleted – even if they have been paid for. Repeated violations may lead to the account being blocked.
How it works
- To post ads you need a free account and a verified mobile number.
- An ad runs for 30 days and can be extended free of charge with one click before it expires.
- Under “My ads” you can edit, bump, mark as sold, deactivate or delete your ads.
- You can post in any of the six languages of the site.
General rules
- One ad = one item or one service. Duplicate ads for the same offer are prohibited, even if worded differently. The same offer may appear no more than 3 times, and only in different cities.
- Deleting active ads in order to post them again is prohibited. Use “Bump” instead.
- The ad must be in the right category. Requests are posted as “Wanted”.
- Title, description, price and photos must match the offer and be truthful. Bait prices (e.g. €1 for a car) are prohibited.
- Contact details (phone, email, messengers, links) do not belong in the title. They are allowed in the description, except links to other classifieds sites.
- Photos must show the item offered. Use only your own photos or photos you hold the rights to. Third-party watermarks and logos are not allowed.
- Advertising other classifieds sites or competing offers is prohibited.
- Vulgar, offensive or discriminatory language is prohibited.
- Anyone acting as a business must use a business account.
- Ads must be aimed at people in Germany: the item, property, place of work or service must be located in Germany or provided here (including online for customers in Germany). Offers located only abroad are not allowed.
Prohibited offers
- Weapons, ammunition and parts thereof, as well as knives covered by the German Weapons Act; pyrotechnics without approval
- Drugs, narcotics, prescription medicines, other medicines and products with healing claims
- Counterfeit goods, pirated copies, ID documents, certificates, number plates and login credentials
- Erotic and sexual services and pornographic content; looking for a partner with romantic or sexual intentions (including in “Activity partners & new friends”)
- Credit and loan offers, investments with promised returns, pyramid schemes; licensed financial service providers with complete company details are exempt
- Esoteric offers with promises of healing or success (love spells, bringing back a partner, removing curses, etc.); tarot, astrology, etc. without such promises only in the designated section
- Stolen goods and anything whose offer or possession is a criminal offence
- Content containing hate speech, war propaganda, glorification of violence or discrimination based on origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation
- Job offers without an identifiable employer, “quick money”, parcel-forwarding and money-transfer jobs
Animals
- Only healthy animals that are vaccinated (where usual) and old enough to be rehomed may be offered; puppies and kittens not before their 8th week of life.
- For dogs and cats, the ad must state age, origin, vaccination status and microchip number or type of identification.
- Prohibited: animals from torture breeding (Qualzucht), protected species without proof, dogs classified as dangerous in your federal state without a permit, and animals as prizes, swaps or “holiday presents”.
- Conspicuous ads (e.g. very young puppies, many litters, missing papers) are checked more closely before publication.
Mandatory information for certain categories
- Real estate (rent, sale): details from the energy performance certificate (type, value, energy source, year of construction, efficiency class), where required by law.
- Vehicles: first registration and mileage; for new cars the mandatory information on consumption and CO₂.
- Business sellers: a complete legal notice (Impressum) on the company page or in the ad.
Review and reporting
New ads are checked automatically; some therefore only appear after a short manual review. If an ad is rejected, we tell you why. You can correct it and resubmit it or object by email to
